93% of facilities violating energy efficiency are outlets
SEEC announced that 945,046 EE non-compliant products were re-exported through customs ports during 2019. SEEC added in a recent report that 715 facilities were found in violation of EE consumption and 664 of which were outlets, representing 93% of the total violating facilities. On the other hand, the violating factories are only 31 factories and they are temporarily suspended. The violating warehouses were 20 warehouses.
Purchasing Samples
According to the report, 100% of the purchase plan is achieved, as 747 samples are bought all over the Kingdom. 555 products, inter alia, are rated conforming and 19 non-conforming products, while 58 products are still under inspection.
Compliance Indicators
The EE compliance indicator of products is 74.29%, representing a 14.57% increase over 2018, waiting for the testing results of 58 samples. Furthermore, 18 inspection tours were conducted on factories, warehouses, and sale outlets. As for recycling, 71,029 lighting fixture products, 9858 household appliances, 3990 thermal insulation products (joint-sealants), and 12.180 thermal insulation products (panels).
Inspection-Tours Outcomes
19,423 visits were conducted on factories, warehouses and outlets.
715 facilities (31 factories, 20 warehouses, and 664 outlets) were found in violation.
664 instant fines are imposed and 18 inspection visits were conducted to factories, warehouses, and outlets.
31 violating factories were temporarily suspended.
502,098 non-conforming products are detected and withheld except for 1262 products, in process. 56 product recalls have been published including 87 products, where the number of recalled products reached 62,283.
