4861 An inspection tour of outlets selling lighting products resulted in the seizure of 613 violating facilities
Riyadh Province and Eastern Province are at the top of lighting fixtures outlets non-complying with SASO standards. In Riyadh Province, 924 inspection tours detected 169 violations, and in the Eastern Province 973 inspection visits detected 150 violations.
Five government entities (Ministry of Industry Mineral Resources, Ministry of Commerce, Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization, Saudi Customs, and the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center) conducted 4861 inspection tours to lighting products outlets across all over the Kingdom’s regions to make sure the EE Label is affixed on every product. These visits have resulted in detecting 613 violating facilities.
53 inspection tours to the Northern Borders Province have detected 11 violating facilities, while 169 visits to Al-Jawf Region detected 8 violations, 297 visits to Tabuk detected only one violation, and 450 visits to Hael detected 45 violations.
Medina Province received 243 visits with 42 violations, 443 tours to Qassim led to 23 violations, 606 to Makkah Al-Mukarramah detected 50 violations, 71 to Al Bahah resulted in 11 violating facilities, 202 to Jezan resulted in 25 violations, 241 to Assir led to 52 violations, and 189 visits to Najjran detected 26 violations.
The violations included lighting fixtures without the Saudi EE Label, as the lighting products have been affixed with European not Saudi labels, lighting products with non-colored (white and black) labels, or lighting fixture with stuck not printed labels.
